How to recognise Isle of Man from the road

Drives on the left

Green hills, stone walls and a motorcycle road race. The Isle of Man looks British, but has its own way of doing things.

2

Manx plates

Number plates usually include the letters MN or MAN, and some carry the three-legged Manx symbol.

3

Two languages

Some signs show Manx Gaelic place names alongside English.

4

Open moorland

Inland, the roads cross open, treeless moorland between green farmland.
