Is Placivago free to play?
Yes. Every day there is a free Daily Expedition: three rounds, two minutes a round, the same three destinations for every player worldwide, with no account required. It takes around six minutes. Pro members play the same daily with more time, two and a half minutes a round, plus the worldwide leaderboard, leagues and duels.
What do I get with Placivago Pro?
More time and more depth. Two and a half minutes a round instead of two, so you can read the scene and line up the guess. Two bonus wanders each day on top of the daily three, five in all, fresh from the pool and outside the leaderboard, for pure exploration. The worldwide leaderboard. Create private leagues for your friends or team, where your first two friends join free, and larger leagues stay Pro. Duel a friend head to head, free for them to accept. And the streak shield, which protects your daily streak once a month. £3.99 a month or £29 a year.
Do I have to pay to try Pro?
The monthly plan starts with 30 days of Pro free. You add a card up front, and you can cancel any time before the 30 days end and you won’t be charged. We email you a few days before, so there are no surprises. Prefer to commit? The annual plan skips the trial and saves you money from day one.
What does Pro cost after the free trial?
Launch pricing for early members: half the standard price for your first year, £14.50 for the annual plan, or £1.99 a month for twelve months. It then renews at the standard price, £29 a year or £3.99 a month. Cancel any time.
How much time do I get per round?
Free players get two minutes a round on the Daily Expedition. Pro members get two and a half minutes on the same three destinations, thirty extra seconds to read the landscape, signage and architecture before you place your guess.
What is the streak shield?
Your daily streak counts the challenge days in a row on which you complete the Daily Expedition. As a Pro member, the streak shield covers a single missed day each calendar month, so one lapse does not end your streak. It applies automatically.
How is Placivago different from other geography guessing games?
No famous landmarks, no city centres. Every location is at least 5 km from a major city, so you read landscape, signage, architecture and vegetation instead of spotting the Eiffel Tower.
How many countries are covered?
195, every continent, from suburban Japan to the Patagonian steppe.
Does Placivago show ads?
The free tier may be supported by the occasional advert, such as a banner on our home page. Placivago Pro is completely ad-free, and so is your 30-day free trial. We never place ads inside a game, and we never use your scores or guesses to target advertising.
